Thanks for writing this post! It was such a joy to read it this morning, and also strangely motivating (in a bit of "aha I'm not the only one" sense, and also basking in someone else's experiences). Small bites each day seem like a good idea that I will also try to adopt.

Your apples are stunning by the way!

I love this and think your idea to be more flexible about the definition of what you're doing daily is a great decision. I have very similar issues with regular practice and I find sometimes saying "just 10 minutes" even I don't finish something, just do 10 minutes. It always ends up being longer than that.

Best of luck, looking forward to seeing how you get on and would love to hear updates when you stick to it and if you don't some days, I'd love to hear about that too!

Thank you so much for writing this is so extremely help! Its so nice to realize that we don't have to sit infront of a desk everyday in order to do something productive toward our artistic goals, but that there are many things that are relative and helpful. I definitely need to read this.

Your work is amazing and lovely! Thank you for sharing it with us 😊.

I did may-sketch-a-day last year and it was great but boy did it burn me out.

It's interesting hearing about your experience and comforting to know there is another artist reacting in a similar manner.

I like the idea of breaking up the challenge aspect to account for someone with a more 'scattered' attention. Being able to actively grow daily via different outputs/inputs seems like a healthier relationship with one's artistic journey.

Thanks for sharing c:

It’s a hard topic for me, I’ve never finished a sketchbook, I stop in the middle then I start a new one thinking Oh new sketchbook better habits! I also struggle with what should I draw, I end up doing figure drawing or thumbnails for illustrations and that’s it
